About Mckenna
I am a proud fourth-generation local, born and raised here in Waterville, WA!
Growing up my world revolved around sports, family, and plenty of hikes and adventures! I started AAU basketball around second grade, and from there on my love for sports only grew.
Throughout my entire school years, I played volleyball, basketball, and softball. In 2021 I graduated from Waterville School District. Shortly after, I began working full-time in banking, where I've grown from a teller into a personal banker. When I'm not at work you can find me enjoying the simple things- hiking, needlework, taking scenic drives and adventures, playing guitar or the sims, listening to music, spending time with family, and of course, capturing life through my lens.
In 2020, I met my high school sweetheart, John. We had met through class, although we were both shy and awkward, it truly felt like love at first sight. I eventually mustered the courage to invite him to a hockey game with my friends. On our very first date... we ended up on kiss cam! and yes, it was all caught on video. From that moment on, we just clicked. We've been like two peas in a pod ever since, building the life that we've always dreamed of. On May 17th, 2025, we tied the knot! Together, we share our home with two dogs, three cats, and two fluffy bunnies who, as an animal lover, are a huge part of my life.
Why Photography?
Photography has always been part of my story for as long as I can remember. Back when I was about 5 years old, I used to sneak off with my mom's old digital camera- capturing anything and everything that caught my eye. One of those photos, a candid shot of my brother, ended up winning 2nd place at our fair! And that's when I truly fell in love with photography!
Almost every Sunday, my family and I would head out for a drive or a hike- through the mountains, coulee, or all the way to the coast when we were feeling extra adventurous. I always had my camera in hand, capturing beauty around me. From the golden wheat fields on the family ranch, nature, and the people and animals I love most. I took photography and yearbook classes, which only fueled my passion further. After graduation, while recovering from knee surgery, I took an online course through Rocky Mountain School of Photography to deepen my skills and knowledge.
Today, I feel incredibly grateful to pursue photography alongside my career -capturing life's most special moments for others to cherish for years to come!
